Welcome to our friendship team! We are a diverse group of passionate individuals dedicated to fostering friendship and understanding among children across the United States and the world. Through our collaborative efforts, we aim to create a positive impact and build a more inclusive and harmonious future for the next generation.

Denny and Frances Gulick
Our Founders
Denny Gulick is the grandson of Sidney L. Gulick who established the frienship doll mission in 1926. Together with his wife Frances, they have revivied his grandfather's mission by sending over 300 dolls of friendship with passports and the spirit of goodwill to more than 30 elementary schools and kindergartens throughout Japan.

Terry Kita
Executive Director
Creative Projects
A Ph.D. in anthropology, Terry has over 30 years researching Japanese culture and over 20 years working in education. Liken many all-volunteer organizations, Terry wears two hats: She is the primary program developer for World Friendship in addition to taking on ther much of the day-to-day operations.

Charmaine Steinberg
Secretary/Treasurer
A long-time staff member of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, PA, Charmaine brings her administrative and museum education expertise to World Friendship Among Children.

Sherri Sewell
Educator
Sherri's 30-plus years as an educator in the areas of English Learning, Reading, and other aspects of elementary education in several states makes her a valued asset at World Friendship Among Children.

Malcolm Tronic
Advisor, Special Projects
Malcolm has traveled the world as a teacher and librarian. His interest in photographing the cultures he's lived in makes him the perfect consultant on our various projects.

Sandy Kita
Academic Advisor
Sandy is a retired art historian who taught courses on the cultures of India, China, and authored many books and articles on his specialty, Japan. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a critical eye that ensures the validity of all of our Asian-related activities.
